Neha Madhiwalla, Coordinator
Currently working on research in reproductive health and bioethics, Neha is also visiting faculty at the Tata Institute for Social Sciences. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics. She is also associated with Sahyog, a community-based initiative for primary health and education for women and girls.
Divya Bhagianadh, Associate Coordinator
After completing her degree in Dentistry from University of Kerala, she pursued her Master’s in Public Health from Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies, Sree Chitra, Kerala. She is a member of the editorial board of Indian Journal of Medical Ethics. Prior to this, she has worked with National Rural Health Mission, Kerala and with Integrated Disease Surveillance Project.
Chitra Borkar, Junior Programme Officer
She supports the secretariat of IEC of Anusandhan Trust and is also involved with the Clinical Trial Project and setting up information resources. She completed her Bachelors in Commerce from Mumbai University and in Library Sciences from YCMOU and is involved in managing and coordinating the library resources at CSER. She is pursuing diploma in NGO Management and Women Empowerment from Nirmla Niketan, Mumbai.
Deapica Ravindran, Junior Programme officer
She has a master’s degree in Biotechnology and is interested in the ethical and social implications of Biotechnology. She has been involved in maintaining a database on the clinical trials registered in the Indian registry CTR-I and the publication of “Clinical trials watch” in the Indian Journal Of Medical Ethics. Her current projects at CSER are "Biomedical and Health Experimentation in South Asia: Critical perspectives on collaboration, governance and competition" and "Clinical and Public Health Researchers’ Perspectives about Research Ethics in India".
Sweta Surve, Junior Programme Officer
She has done her post graduation in social work from SNDT Women’s University, Mumbai. Currently working on the research project- “The Practice of Obstetric care in Mumbai, an Ethical Analysis.” She is an Advanced Youth Fellow at PUKAR- Partners for Urban knowledge Action and Research and is associated with research on political participation of women in Mumbai. Her areas of interest include women’s health, policy administration and electoral politics.
Rakhi Ghoshal, Junior Programme Officer
She has a Master's Degree in English Literature and is at the moment pursuing her PhD in Cultural Studies from Centre for the Study of Culture and Society (CSCS), Bangalore, on the experience and ethics of childbirth. She has worked as a copy editor in the print media and is actively interested in academic and non-academic writing; a member of Kolkata based organisation Sanhati (publishers of the annual journal Tepantar) – a forum for parallel academics and politico-theoretical activism – her research interests pertain primarily to gender, health, healthcare and ethics.
Bhasyati Sinha, Senior Research Assistant
She has done her graduation from University of Kolkata and later did Women’s Studies certificate course from SNDT, Mumbai. She managed the National secretariat of the IJME National Bioethics Conference and is also involved with the Clinical trials and obstetric care projects. She is also interested in the field of maternal and child health programmes.
Kinjal Ved, Office Assistant
She had completed her Bachelors in Management Studies with a specialization in Finance from the University of Mumbai. At present, she is working on clinical trials project and is also invloved in managing the library resources at CSER along with Chitra Borkar.
Sanna Meherally, Junior Program officer
She has a Bachelors degree in Microbiology and a PG diploma in Sports Science and Fitness nutrition. She has also completed a masters course in Extension education from S.N.D.T. University. She is currently working on a research project on Concerns and coping mechanism related to family, work and social life of women with breast cancer in collaboration with Bhabha Atomin Rresearch Centre(BARC)hospital.
Vivian David Jacob, Junior program officer
He completed his masters coursework in Biotechnology and pursued his masters dissertation work on Ethics of stem cell research in India. He has also attended the Intensive Bioethics course from the Kennedy Institute of Ethics, Georgetown University, USA. Vivian works on the Clinical trials project in CSER and is interested in the ethical implications of science and technology.
Administrative section
Mahendra Shinde, Junior Administrative Officer.
He is in charge of the financial and administrative functioning of CSER. A post graduate in Commerce from Mumbai University, he has also completed diploma in Financial Management from Welingkar Institute and Government Diploma in Cooperation and Accounts from Maharashtra Government. He is currently pursuing professional Company Secretary Course from the Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Bhushan R Parkar, Office Assistant
He supports the administrative functions of CSER. He is currently pursuing his Bachelors in Commerce from University of Mumbai.
