Formative research for developing a proposal for introducing gender-sensitivity in the National Tuberculosis Programme. She interviewed healthcare providers in private and government institutions to understand their perceptions about their clients, the problems that they face and their approach to treatment

Vasudha Mohanka: M.A. in Social Work, Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Documentation of case studies of women in childbirth in Jhagadia block of Sewa Rural. She was part of the CSER team that conducted interviews of women who had delivered in the month of March 2008 in the field area of Sewa Rural alongwith interviews of the staff who were associated with these women. The documentation was part of the background work done to revamp the monitoring system of Sewa Rural.

Tahmeed Contractor: M.B.B.S (passed out from LTMG Medical College, Mumbai)

Developing a database of bioethics institutions across the world. Documentation of case studies in Sewa Rural, based on which he prepared a paper on the problems faced by women accessing emergency services in the case obstructed labour. Prepared a case study of a maternal death for publication in the Indian Journal of Medical Ethics.

Roshan George: B.Sc Mathematics, Chennai

Participated in a systematic review of literature on gender dimensions of tuberculosis and its treatment. Conducted formative research of healthcare providers for understanding their perspective on TB patients in their practice.

Lubna Duggal: B.A Philosophy

Conducted a review of literature on the concept of autonomy in studies and laws related to adolescents. Wrote an autobiographical piece and poems as a response to her reading of the literature.

Baiju Shah: Masters in Health Administration, Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Conducted interviews for formative research on TB treatment providers. Undertook a mapping of the facilities available of the orthopaedically disabled. For this, she listed health facilities, referral centres and rehab centres and conducted telephonic or face-to-face interviews. Participated in an academic writing workshop.

Girish Ingle: Masters in Health Administration, Tata Institute of Social Sciences

Girish received a short-term fellowship at the Bioethics division of the World Health Organisation.
